Somerset West, a beautiful garden town at the foot of the Helderberg mountain in the Helderberg area within the Cape Town Metro, is home of the historic Vergelegen Estate (famous for award-winning wines), the Erinvale Golf Course of Golf World Cup format, the Helderberg Nature Reserve and Somerset Mall, a large shopping complex. It is said that the town has the most beautiful Christmas lights in the country.
This leafy town is the ideal base from which to explore Cape Town and all its popular tourist attractions, the Helderberg, the beaches along False Bay, the whale route and the famous South African winelands since it is central and close to all the sight-seeing experiences in the Cape.
